Chair — Local Resident

I am 27 and live at the top end of Wybourn with my fiance and our very spoilt French bulldog, Otis. I studied Law at the University of Sheffield and now work in the tech world as a People & Compliance Officer, while also studying Human Resources at Master's level. Outside of work, study and board responsibilities, you'll usually find me lost in a good book, checking out Sheffield's amazing food and drink scene, or chasing the sun on a weekend getaway.

I always say I literally wouldn't be here without community spaces — my parents met at Wybourn Youth Club back in the 80s! Wybourn has been my world for as long as I can remember — the school, the people, the community — it's all shaped who I am. Becoming a trustee felt like the most natural way to give back to the place that gave me so much.

When I was at University, it was heartbreaking how often people reacted with surprise or judgment when I said I was from Wybourn. There's still a stigma around council estates — and I want to help change that. I'd love to see a real boost in confidence and aspirations across the area. There's no reason why Wybourn kids can't grow up to be doctors, electricians, lawyers or even the next prime minister! I'm excited to get going with things like CV writing workshops and free AI courses — just the start of what I hope will be loads of practical, positive opportunities for local people.

Secretary — Local Resident

After moving to Wybourn about 9 years ago, I quickly fell in love with the area and wanted not just me alone but for all residents to thrive. I looked for opportunities to make a difference and when the opportunity to become a trustee came up, I knew I had to go for it. Wybourn is a great community and I want it to be even greater with lots of fun things for everyone to do.

I set up Solace Craft Group CIC, an organisation that empowers people through creative activities. Currently running a thriving arts and crafts for wellbeing courses and activities for women and children. I also run kids club art, craft and cooking classes and organise seasonal and sessional fun events and themed activities for children and young people. As a mother to three teenagers, I understand the need for providing activities to keep children busy. I am looking forward to sharing my skills to help the people of my community thrive and achieve greater things.

Deputy Chair — Local Resident

I am 51 years old and I have lived on Wybourn all my life and would love to get it back to being a great community with lots of new people around who can become friends and not strangers. I became a trustee to try and make a change. I love doing voluntary things and really want to get involved more with the Pat Midgley Community Hub to give back to the community.

MCDT Representative — Local Resident

I have lived in the area for 28 years and worked here for 23, initially as a parent involvement worker for the Sure Start programme then as a development worker for Manor Castle and Arbourthorne communities — organising things such as Skye Edge community fun days, activities for young people, and working with residents to set up Wybourn Be Heard.

More recently I have been helping residents have their voice heard in the building of the Pat Midgley community building. I made the decision to become a trustee after being a member of the steering group that enabled Pat Midgley Centre to be built. The building has so much to offer the community and I became a trustee to support residents to be part of the decision making and delivery of activities.

Head Teacher — Wybourn Community School

I became a trustee because the Pat Midgley Community Hub is opposite the school. Both the school and the centre are there to meet the needs of the local community and it makes sense for us to work together. I have worked in Wybourn for 20 years and know the families well — I taught many of the parents who currently have children in the school, which makes me feel rather old!

I want Wybourn to be a place where all residents are safe, comfortable and content — somewhere that everyone is proud to call home. I am also the mum of two teenage boys and know the benefit of activities being provided in the local area to keep children busy and happy. I am looking forward to working with members of the community to further develop opportunity for all in Wybourn.

Treasurer — Local Resident

I am involved in organising activities and days out for families within the Senegalese community in Sheffield and Rotherham. I became a trustee to help my neighbours and to use my skills to support them.

Labour Councillor, Manor & Castle

I am the Labour Councillor for Manor Castle which is why I wanted to become a trustee. Pat was also my cousin, which gives me a personal connection. My family all came from the Manor area, including Wybourn, and I am passionate about increasing opportunities for people from all backgrounds.

I have a background in economic development and set up the Zest Centre in Upperthorpe — a sustainable and successful community development trust which provides a range of services to the local community. I would use my skills and experience to contribute to the development of the Pat Midgley Community Hub.

Head of Neighbourhood — Great Places

I have worked for Great Places for almost 18 years and during this time, Wybourn has been a special place to me. The Pat Midgley Community Hub is an essential facility in the heart of Wybourn. It is important that I use my skills to support local residents to help make Pat Midgley Community Hub a thriving centre offering a range of events and services for the Wybourn community.
